150. Anniversary
The photo series „Fritz Schumacher“ has been published on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Hamburg architect and former senior building director Fritz Schumacher. This architectural series leads through Schumacher’s various state buildings in Hamburg. From 1909 onwards, Fritz Schumacher spent 24 years developing around 90 buildings in and around the Hanseatic city of Hamburg. His buildings are a combination of tradition and modernity as well as a fusion of function and art. He shaped Hamburg with numerous brick buildings made up of monumental, artistically decorated interiors and classic brick facades. The series provides a glimpse behind the hard exterior and pays tribute to Schumacher’s work within the city of Hamburg.
