Regelbau

Atlantic Wall

Regelbau is a photo series about the German standardized bunker construction from World War II. In less than four years (from 1940 to 1944), thousands of concrete structures have been planned and erected along the Atlantic coastline, reaching from Norway down to the south of France. German military forces and thousands of PoWs, who were forced to, worked on this huge military project. Nowadays the ruins of these defence structures can be seen as particular historical objects as well as eternal memorials for the insanity of war.
